Cruise information about life on a sailing boat

Everyone can go on a sail yacht cruise, but you need to have some tolerance and adaptability. This boats are not floating hotels as cruise ships or motor yachts, but sporting boats (also suitable for cruise) where we should all work together to navigate in harmony. You won’t have all the comforts, but you will discover a whole new way of living the sea.
In any event, the sail yacht is like a miniature house equipped with all comforts for a relaxing and comfortable stay. But we must not forget that this little house floats, moves and carries us wherever we want to go, even with only the help of the wind.
And that’s why its water lines are significantly different from those of a barge or motor boat. Every hidden corner has been used by the designer in order to optimize the large drop shape of the hull.
Indeed, who has no confidence with the sailing boats can never imagine that in its belly it - for example the 12.50 meters - will include two double cabins aft, two doubles forward, two toilets and a kitchen with both electric refrigerator, gas oven and all the accessories to cook, all positioned in the square, the living room, which can comfortably accommodate a table seating 6 or 7 people.
Usually the charter boats are more spacious because they have been designed more for its comfort and liveability than its sailing performance. But sometimes architects can find a good compromise. This compromise is called “Sous Vent III” the sailing boat used by our association, a Bavaria Caribic of 12,50 mt with excellent sailing characteristics, and incredible gifts of comfort and living conditions on board.

FIRST DAY –
Upon arrival on the island it will not be difficult to find the mooring of the boat you choose for your holiday. Our informations via telephone and sms, will give you the exact coordinates of our quay.
The Saturday of your arrival, after the accommodation on board and the introductions we will spend a little time in a briefing.
Then, after having filled the membership card and placed your luggage in your cabin, we can decide together the shopping list in order to supply the on-board galley. The task of this phase is for all guests, with the coordination of the skipper, but since the first few minutes you know who has a passion for the kitchen and then some will go to the supermarket which, in 90% of cases, will offer a transport service market / boat practically free, convenient, especially for heavy boxes of drinking water.
Later, after having tasted a little welcome refreshment, we will program the first few days of vacation always “asking advise to Mr Weather”.
Usually, seen the arrival of the guests with different times, we spend the first night moored at the quay, often in the company of the “next-boat neighbours” with an opportunity to socialize and exchange recipes and advices.
In this first evening we will have the time for the accommodation of large galley and the allocation of cabins, but as you are in one of the most beautiful islands of the archipelago, the holiday already started!.
How many ways are there to make the holiday on a sailing boat?
In recent decades, recreational boating has grown a lot, and we refer to that nautical done by people who sail for pleasure, for passion or simply for a different holiday.
On summer, a large number of people choose to spend their precious holidays on a sailing boat, but not all have a yacht, so they rent it.
It is really so! Today, thanks to the charter boat you can be a owner just for a week, or for a weekend with not a lot of money (if divided among a group of at least six friends). Those prices vary depending on the boat you require.

Then you rent a boat and if you can’t “drive” it you require a skipper,  an extra fees, at a cost that affects your budget. The boats are new with no more than 5 years of life, but very limited and without a soul, furnished with the necessary for life on board for a week, a lot of plastic, comfortable spaces but little wood, a little charm, little character and little care of those details that often make the difference.
Then there are the sport clubs and sailing clubs, whose founders are often people who come together for a common passion and to be completed with a common purpose by adopting a different philosophy from that of the rental companies, which are purely commercial and are enough certified in the standards required by the marine market, unlike the associations devoted more directly to the practice of sailing, by organizing sailing courses, themed events, entertainment cruises. Clearly not for customers but for members, because those who decide to participate in cruises, courses or take advantage of activities and services became a part of our association, a simple thing to do included in the costs of your first cruise.
The boats used are often made available by the members themselves, which in return can receive a good maintenance by the year, with measures of quality and continuous improvements to the safety and maximum efficiency, not neglecting the comfort and the design.
A particularly important feature that characterize cruises in the association is to have resolved the problem of forming a group in advance. How many times a single or a couple has seen vanished the dream of a holiday on a boat? Simply because two people cannot cope with the large cost of chartering a boat. Then you can turn to the individual boarding, which resolves the issue of undecided friends and push to expand the new friendships.
